Review of Dr. Phil Hadfield's Nightlife and Crime: Social Order and Governance in International Perspective (2009)

Home > Take Action > Raise awareness

Phil Hadfield is a key speaker at Thinking Drinking 3 in Brisbane on August 5-7 on the topic of "Sailing the seas of alcohol policy: frantic steering and creative rowing."

Phil's research interests include nightlife cultures and the regulation and policing of the ‘night-time economy' and urban civility and the governance of public space.

While he is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies, School of Law, University of Leeds, UK, he knows the other side of the alcohol industry, having been a DJ in the north of England for ten years.

Here Geoff Munro reviews his latest book, Nightlife and Crime, published in Alcohol Alert, with appreciation to the Institute of Alcohol Studies - http://www.ias.org.uk/resources/publications/alcoholalert/alert200902/al200902_p20.html
